Fluffy Mail

Hooray they have finally arrived... all 24 of them... all neatly packaged and colour coordinated.
Things are going to change for good.

Its day 3 and using these nappies has been no extra effort at all... well apart from stuffing them, and then also washing them. But so far my attention has not gone astray and we still have a positive relationship.

Its not just the new cloth nappies we are now modeling, but chucks cloths for wipes, and bamboo sachets to help deodorize the stink. Im impressed with the new set up.

It almost feels like Im doing a little good in the world of rubbish tips and healthy bums.

TOMS SHOES

Okay so My sister got me onto this site.
This guy started up an idea where for every shoe he sold he would send one to a child in need.

In fact TOMS has given over one million pairs of shoes to children in over 24 countries.

I wouldn't mind wearing a pair for myself. And there are some funky adult shoes, However this is a post about the super cute shoes I am about to purchase for my little boys. When they are old enough I would love for them to know that by wearing these shoes they are giving to another child just like them who have needs just like them.

Head on over to his website for more fun styles. www.toms.com while your there have a read of his interesting story and movement.

Welcome BUBBA Saunders

Okay so I dont have any photos yet.. but I will very soon. I just wanted to brag about having another beautiful Niece.

One moment in particular that I wanted to write about was when I got the phone call from my beautiful twin with the news about the new arrival.

Her voice was shaky.. the moment had only just happened.. and for her the disbelief of a miracle still fresh in her voice.  "Shes so beautiful" ... I could imagine that the event that had just taken place was only really starting to sink in. "Shes perfect" ... As only a mother could judge.

Amy OH Amy,  Well Done... you have achieved something that only woman can achieve. Something that God has created our bodies to cope with. Something that you will forget about the bad and remember the feeling of what it was like seeing her for the first time.

YOUR AMAZING!!!  IM SO PROUD OF YOU!!

Eco Child

So Im finaly going to give it a go, cloth nappies that I thought were too hard and gross to ever be worth it, will be joining my family any day now.

BumGenuise Cloth Nappies,  grasshopper green, very cute, very fun and Very practical.

Here is a list of why we have chosen to try the Reusable nappy:

better for your baby's health
more comfortable
more reliable containment + greater absorption
help reduce the incidence of nappy rash
do not have the health disadvantages of disposables
Better for the environment

Oh and cheaper...

Granted I haven't received them in the mail yet, and haven't given them a try, so I will need to keep you posted on weather these nappies do everything I am convinced they will do.

Bath time bliss

Oh I love watching my boys in the bath, the water seems to calm them down and distract them from their crankiness and crying.

Oh how I love seeing them laughing and playing together, making funny noises and splashing each other.

This is why we do it, why we survive sickness, crying, whirlwind days. Sleepless nights and broken treasures. Stretch marks and saggy bellies.

For moments like these, where their happiness sings straight to your heart. Gods heart.

One word LOVE

MORE SICKNESS

I am at my wits end with this continuos sickness. Why has it lingered? My poor little boy has a flu again.
Im not sure the doctors really know whats going on, I guess with little ones you cant find all the symptoms.

Does anyone know of a great doctor? Im willing to travel to meet them. Id do anything to stop this unhappiness.

New Toys

So my little Nephew is turning one. And Im trying to find suitable present for him.
There are just so many to choose from in the toy world we live in. Where to start?

A Sorta Fairytale Photo Challenge - Precious Moments

This one was a hard one to do. only because I had a hard time trying to decide which photo to submit.
In the end I choose this one. it sums life up for me. the miracle of new life. a moment captured. paused. revisited over and over. the look of investigation. 'who is this person we have just brought into our lives?'

Sickness

Peter is ill. His eyes are glassy. His lips are dry. His voice is horse. His tears are constant.
Lord Please place your healing hand on my beautiful boy. I cant handle seeing my little one not happy.

Its funny how when you have your own child you start to realize what this unconditional love is like. what it feels like to love without wanting. needing. expecting anything in return.
This love that makes your heart hurt when your boys are sad and crying. hurting. looking to you for comfort.
Is this that love that God has for us, does he hurt this much when he sees us sad and sick.

When will this plague of sickness leave my family, first Olli, now Peter.
Fever go away. Ear infection see you later. you croup your not wanted in my house.
BE GONE ALL OF YOU!!!

Jane Austin

I know the title sounds non boyish, but the affair was quite the opposite.
The other weekend was My sister in-laws 30th. She is a Huge Jane Austin fan. so it was only fitting that she had a party with a theme of Regency period.

The Boys had so much fun, Im sorry to admit that I ran out of time making them costumes so they had non, but my husband looked the part.

There was running races, ribbon sticks, may-poles, sack races. Everything.

A Great day, as you may see from the collection of photos I took.
Peter had his first running race, even though he didn't understand the winning part, he had fun joining in.

We love parties, event to get together as a big family and just play. So many cousins that it doesn't happen that often but when it does, the kids have sooo much fun.

LOVE!

A Grandma's Touch

Thank Goodness for Grandma's!
Where would we be without them, they help us clean our houses when we are sick, pay for our food, buy us clothes, sing you songs of God, read you books, and rock you to sleep when you are sick.

What would we do without Grandma's? Im lucky I havent had to answer that question. I hope I never do. Oliver You have been sick of recent, Grandma was there holding you close. giving you cuddles and sharing warmth with you. LOVE!

Not to mention Grandudds, shesh, I will leave that for another blog... Theres alot to say about them too.

Toilet Training

So The dreaded week has arrived, I have been making up excuses for a while now... 'Ill wait till its warm'... 'After Camp'... Well After Camp has arrived and so now is the week.

Lets see what will I need to prepare myself for TOILET TRAINING Peter!!( Just to clarify that it Peter who needs the Training, not me)

We went to the shop and brought some cool stickers. I also found a rewards chart to print out and put on the Door to the Toilet. Next were the Thomas Undies picked out by Peter himself.

SOO What now? Any Suggestions?

Do I buy some Stairs for the loo or use a potty? Do we try no undies in the back yard or timing it and sitting him on the toilet at intevials?
Too Many questions really.

Its not so much training for Peter, But Me really. I lose interest in things quickly, so if this is going to work, I need to really focus and keep at it. AHH Its sounding scary already.

I did read a good book a friend lent me called.... Potty Training in One Week. By Gina Ford

Her Website had some other really good Ideas and Resources Called the contented baby
On it was another book that Iv seen a couple of times in the shops. Which I thought would be quite fitting for my Peter.

I would Love some feed back on this topic. Any ideals that worked for you?

Monday, September 13, 2010

On Sunday we ventured out to some local markets in old Petrie town. They werent too bad really.

Peter found boxes of toys to rummage through, while I found some cool vintage cameras to add to my slowly growing collection. My main buy was this cool chair and retro rocking sled.

Im now trying to decide what to recover the chair in. It will need a nice coat of lacquer.

Im naming it the reading chair, a place where loads of story telling and cuddling will happen.

Tea Party

Morning tea anyone?

I love shopping on etsy. Aren't these just simply delicious looking.

We did a little afternoon frolicking out at Watson park yesterday, just to check out some fun spots for a photo shoot. Unfortunately my boys weren't co-operating for me. However such is life when your taking photos of kids. Kind of makes the photos more real. Lets face it, we do still need to document the un-happy times too.

Playtime

Today we had fun times Sam come over to play...and play they did.
Ever notice that kids only have one speed...Non-stop....Fast.

The constant giggling, 'Peter come', 'Sam- look'... Chat Chat Chat.
Jumping, running, Chasing kitty Cat, climbing, cleaning ( they cleaned my windows for me)
spraying water, swinging, sliding, more running, more giggling.

I love the pure excitement for life children have. Life's just one big game. Isn't that how God wants us to be? How he created us? Where has that Pure Excitement gone?

Of course they were never still enough for me to get a good photo

Daddy

How can I even start to write about how much we love our daddy.
He is so gentle and so loving towards his boys, So fun, So spirtual.

He wakes when they wake and lets me sleep in, he helps put them to bed ( although he sometimes gets them up too if they arent sleeping)

He wants them in his bed when they are sick, He takes them out on fun trips, he spoils them, he loves them.

We love you!!!!
